At Echelon-Health Concierge Medicine we are "opted-out" of Medicare which means that while we will not bill Medicare for any of your medical care, we can still refer you to doctors, prescribe medications, and order exams. This can get complicated when it comes to "Medicare HMOs" which have their own rules about what you can and cannot do outside the network. Also the HMO may require you to have an "in-network" physician for any referrals.
